About
Hi, I am Rob. Based in Ulverston and passionate about the Lake District, I've spent years helping dogs and their owners build better relationships. Having lived in the Lake District for over 25 years, I know the area, the community and the dogs that call it home.
Based in Ulverston
Serving all of Cumbria
I've been working with dogs and their owners for years, and my approach has always been the same: patient, positive, fun and completely tailored to the individual dog and family in front of me.
Having always had a dog in our family since I was a young boy, this has given me a deep appreciation for the bond between a dog and their owner. That bond is at the heart of everything I do — training isn't just about commands, it's about building trust, confidence, and a relationship that lasts a lifetime.
I visit your home because I believe dogs learn best in the environment where they actually live. No distractions of a group class, no travel stress — just focused, fun, effective training in your home, garden, or local area.
Training & credentials
You can trust that your dog is in safe, knowledgeable hands. Here's what I bring to every session.
Fully trained in canine behaviour and learning theory, with qualifications in positive reinforcement-based dog training methods.
Comprehensive public liability insurance for complete peace of mind during every home visit session.
I use only reward-based, positive reinforcement techniques. No choke chains, no punishment — just kind, effective training that dogs enjoy.
Many dogs and breeds trained across Cumbria, from nervous rescue dogs to boisterous puppies and everything in between.
Having lived in the Lake District for over 25 years, I know the area, the community, and the kinds of dogs that thrive here.
Committed to staying up to date with the latest research in canine behaviour and training science.
Every dog I work with is an individual. Some are bold and bouncy, some are shy and anxious — and most are somewhere in between. My job is to meet them where they are, understand what motivates them, and build on that.
I never use harsh methods, punishment, or equipment designed to cause discomfort. Not because it's fashionable, but because the science is clear: dogs learn faster, retain more, and are happier when training is a positive experience.
